As I went through the activities of this unit, I found myself building a confidence in the way I take pictures. This was especially clear to me during the photoblitz assignment, as it forced me to be more flexible and resourceful in my photography.
This exercise was also a great way to get my creative juices flowing, and I can definitely see myself practicing the techniques I used here in future photos I take.
Additionally, following certain tips and tricks allowed for me to get a better sense of the technical aspects of photography, which is just as important as the inventiveness of the pictures.
Lastly, the visual assignment bank had some very cool prompts for me to follow, such as “Concert you want to be at” (2 stars), which forced me to do a bit more research into the music culture in Chile. I got to learn a bit about concert venues in Santiago, which I then used as a part of my story.
In conclusion, this unit helped me gain various skillsets in the world of visual storytelling, skillsets that I plan to use going forward in whatever opportunity that arises.
